I need to have solid info about good solar energy apparatus that can be used in a sunny location to produce electricity for my home. I prefer makers and industries in the UK and how to look them up.

Depends on a lot of different things, among other things how big of a space you want to power. The maintenance isn’t much as there really isn’t much to maintain with solar energy. The panels, inverters, batteries, etc come with warranties and the initial cost of the entire system can be reduced greatly by incentives from your utility and from NYS.
Again without specifics of what you want I really cant give you an accurate number. If its worth anything my Uncle used a company called Sun Electronics (based in Miami) for a big retro fit on his house in the Florida Keys. He had Solar and Wind installed so obviously his situation is a bit more advanced than yours, but he plugged in his solar calculation data into their website, then verified it against google and a few other sites and wound up getting a great price. He wound up referring them to my In Laws for a small solar system on their house outside of Chicago and they enjoyed using them as well.

You could not know or care about what a foreign company is trying to do however I think it’s time to speak out towards a company that’s just occupied with making money at the possible value of dropping a 7.5 billion dollar fishing trade and a multi billion dollar tourist industry. You see an organization from exterior the US is proposing a plan to build a wind farm off shore in Lake Michigan.This proposal is being given with little or no concern of the impact this might have on our Great Lakes ( The Largest supply of Fresh Water on the earth ).
Information on this shopper energy profect will be available on the Western Michigan Fair on the Mason County Fairgrounds. They will show an artist’s rendition of the wind park in the information booth between 9am and 5pm. Photos of similar sites will be overlaid with photographs of wind turbines to provide the public an idea of what the wind turbine park will look like.
Consumer Energy has signed easements agreements with just a few hundred land owners for the placement of turbines, substations, and lines. Payments will differ based mostly on property use and the way much land is used. Being closed to the grid transmission system of the Ludington Pumped Storage Plant is a plus and the venture is expected to go surfing in late 2012.
Also plans for a wind farm in Manistee and Benzie counties are within the planning stages. Duke Energy is planning a hundred and one megawatt farm with 56 wind turbines. They have signed leases on about half of the 8,000 acres they’ll need. The title of this project is Gail Windpower with Duke Energy Generation Services because the developer, developing and working the wind farm. The fundamental areas for the turbines will be Arcadia and Pleasanton Townships because of their good potential winds. These townships are engaged on a zoning ordinance to cowl wind farms.
This is another instance of a wind farm that may help our own local land owners with a steady income from the leases, wind turbine fees and revenue sharing. This shopper energy project will also create a brand new tax income with the large variety of jobs that can be created.
