I need info on solar energy NOW!?
I’m doing a report thing for school. My science teacher is pretending to be the queen of a made up country and the class is split into groups to try to ‘sell’ different types of alternate energy to her. My group has solar energy. I need arguments for questions like “What do you do at night or on cloudy/rainy days?” “What happens to the waste produced by the manufacturing of the solar cells and stuff?” And stuff like that. Please answer quickly, the report is tomorrow! (Though the bus doesn’t pick me up ’til a little before 11. Yay, Middle College!)
How is the country going to deal with the intial cost of installing the solar energy cells? They are extremely expensive.
A solar energy installation requires a large area for the system to be efficient in providing a source of electricity. This may be a disadvantage in areas where space is short, or expensive (such as inner cities).
To generate enough current to be useful, the panel needs to be large quite large. The panel will ruin the ambiance of the house (solar panels are not very attractive looking).
The sun’s rays moves at different angles depending on the season and the solar panel would need to be repositioned to produce energy. Is there a source of labor that would be willing to do that for just about every season?
