I assume you mean solar hot-water heating? Solar room heating or whole-house heating is so non-standard and so open ended that it’s hard to give any sort of definite answer for those.
For solar hot-water heating, you have tubing up on your roof that the water flows through. It gets heated by the sun, and the (somewhat) hot water gets pumped down back into your house for use.
